The Heart Behind ‘Nest. Rest. Repeat.’ – How To Thrive In The Chaos Of Motherhood, One Day At A Time

Welcome, dear mama, to Nest. Rest. Repeat., my little outlet for sharing the beautiful, challenging, and ever-changing journey of motherhood, and how to thrive in the chaos – one day at a time. I’m Eva.

Who am I? That’s an interesting question because once you enter motherhood, your identity truly evolves. I’m a mom to three littles under five, and I’m right in the thick of it. My world is full of sticky fingers, endless laundry, and so much love. I have a newborn, a 3-year-old starting junior kindergarten, and a 5-year-old who’s about to embark on the adventure of first grade. Life is busy, chaotic, and wonderful all at once.

This blog is written at my kitchen counter, always with my coffee or tea, and sometimes a sweet snack. I like to think that while I’m writing my posts, I’m speaking right to the mom reading it. In fact, the whole blog is structured to speak directly to the heart of those going through the joys and challenges of motherhood. It’s from one mother to another, and I hope you find comfort, inspiration, and a reminder that you’re not alone.

Why I Started This Blog

The name Nest. Rest. Repeat. perfectly sums up how I’ve felt over the past few years. It’s a cycle that many of us moms find ourselves in—preparing, caring, resting (when we can!), and then doing it all over again. But let’s dive into what each part of that cycle means for me and why I started this blog in the first place.

Nest

Nesting—it’s something we often associate with getting ready for a baby, but I’ve come to realize that it’s so much more than that. It’s an ongoing process of preparing, adjusting, and anticipating every new stage of your child’s life.

Before my first was born, I did the typical nesting. We overhauled our house, installed new flooring upstairs, and even redid the kitchen. Not because we needed to for the baby, but because we knew that once she arrived, we’d be focused on her and wouldn’t have time for big house projects.

Then she was born, and you’d think the nesting phase was over—spoiler: it wasn’t. I found myself constantly preparing for the next stage: rearranging clothes to get ready for the next growth spurt, researching milestones, and baby-proofing the house. Then came the solid foods phase, followed by preparing for daycare, and eventually getting ready for my return to work. My life, especially in that first year, was one big preparation session!

When I became pregnant with my second, the nesting process doubled. I was preparing for the new baby while still navigating all the new milestones with my first. There were moments when it felt overwhelming—two under two is no joke! But just like the first time, I was always getting ready for the next stage.

Now, with three kids (one of them a newborn), I’ve realized that the nesting process never truly ends—it just evolves. Whether it’s reorganizing for the next growth spurt, picking out toys to keep your kids stimulated, or getting ready for school, the “nest” phase is ever-present. This blog is a space where we can talk about all of that—how to stay prepared while keeping our sanity intact!

Rest

Now, let’s talk about rest. I know how easy it is to focus on everyone else and forget about yourself. But mama, you matter too. It’s about remembering to take care of yourself, even when the to-do list is endless.

This blog will remind you to find those moments of rest—whether it’s between babies or simply taking time to breathe amidst the chaos. Motherhood is a marathon, not a sprint, and your wellness is crucial. We can’t pour from an empty cup. Nest. Rest. Repeat. is not just about the kids; it’s about you. Your health, your happiness, your sanity. You are the foundation of your family’s well-being, and I’ll be sharing tips and reminders on how to prioritize your own self-care amidst the many roles you juggle.

Motherhood wellness is crucial, and it’s something we’ll focus on a lot here. From self-care tips to wellness ideas that fit into a busy schedule, I want to remind you that you deserve rest too. While it’s not always easy to carve out time for ourselves, this blog is a gentle nudge to prioritize your own wellness amidst the chaos.

Repeat

And then, of course, we repeat the process. The stages come and go so quickly—sometimes it feels like the moment you’ve gotten the hang of one phase, a new one is already starting! But that’s motherhood, isn’t it? We’re always adjusting, learning, and growing alongside our kids. The cycle of Nest. Rest. Repeat. never truly ends, and that’s the beauty of it.

Through this blog, I want to share my journey—the moments of joy, the struggles, and everything in between. I want to create a space where we can talk about the real side of motherhood, where you can feel inspired, supported, and hopefully find a little bit of laughter along the way.

So, whether you’re prepping for your first baby, in the trenches with toddlers, or juggling multiple kids like me, let’s walk this journey together.

From My Heart to Yours

So, grab your coffee (or tea!), settle in, and let’s embrace the beauty, the mess, and the magic of motherhood. From one mother to another, I’m here to remind you that you’re doing an incredible job—no matter what stage you’re in.

With love,
Eva
